PROJECT OVERVIEW
Artium led the construction of nine residential apartments and two commercial units on a site of archaeological interest in York. Built over three storeys, the scheme is a mix of refurbishment and new build under a traditional form of contract. Working in a conservation area with neighbouring occupied buildings posed challenges, but Artium provided proactive technical solutions and value engineering throughout, ensuring the project was delivered safely, efficiently, and within budget.
The scheme combined partial demolition with careful retention of existing structures, including façade preservation and major structural alterations. CFA piled foundations and a steel and masonry frame supported the three-storey development, while external works enhanced the overall site.
